The CSA Z614 standard
is a set of technical requirements and principles established by the Canadian Standards Association applicable to the design, construction, installation, maintenance and verification of playground equipment and their protective coverings intended for children.
It aims particularly to promote the development and use of well-designed, well-maintained, innovative and stimulating play areas.
It takes into account the size and other developmental characteristics of children so that they can be offered appropriate play experiences.

Right to Play
“Research proves it: play is fundamental and not optional for young children. It is their main tool for development, their main strategy for natural learning. It is therefore urgent to consider it publicly and unanimously as such,” stressed Claudette Pitre Robin, director of the Regroupement des centres de la petite enfance de la Montérégie (RCPEM) during the unveiling of the Charter on the Right to Play.
